The original is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and is the only know bedstead to survive from 17th century New England. The turnings are reminiscent of Carver and Brewster chairs. Made completely in ash with traces of red paint, the original is 46 1/2" high, 49 3/4" wide, and 72 5/8" long. Our copy, also made of ash, is available in standard sizes. This bed would be appropriate in ash, oak or maple. Shown with cross braces for a plywood platform.
